Gulab Jamun

Ingredients
1) Gova(Sugarless) : 1 ½ Cups
2) Paneer : ¼ Cup
3) Soda bicarbonate : ¼ Cup
4) Maida : 3 tbsps
5) Cardamom Powder : ¼ tsp
6) Sugar : 2 Cups
7) Ghee/Oil : For Deep Fry

Preparation

  • Grate Gova, mash Paneer and keep them aside.
  • Mix the two along with soda bicarbonate, Maida, cardamom powder and a little water to make soft dough.
  • Divide into sixteen equal portions and shape into balls.
  • To prepare sugar syrup, heat two cups of water and add sugar to it. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Clear the syrup by removing the scum, if any
  • Heat sufficient ghee/oil in a frying pan. Add the balls and deep fry on low heat till golden in colour. Drain them onto an absorbent kitchen towel or paper
  • Soak the fried balls in the sugar syrup for atleast 15 to 20 minutes before serve.
